Zamberlan 309 Trail Lite Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's

Used for a month now and very comfortable and supportive, without the weight. Good all round hiker for those without a heavy pack, waterproof and flexible

I have been wearing these for about a year on hiking trails on BC's west coast and they are tough, solid boots. A total pleasure to hike in. Lots of foot support, as waterproof as any boots can get, with their tongue being actually part of the upper ---no seams to leak into---. They are not too heavy, they fit like a glove, and these boots would be the best all-round hiking boot I have worn. They thrive in serious scree and rugged steep alpine and glacial river boulders. And they also are good on easier recreational trails. I also have a pair of Scarpa Kailash trek boots which are very similar to the Zamberlans in weight, but, the Zamberlans will in the long term take more punishment than the Scarpas, I feel. being solid leather, where the Scarpas are leather and fabric. The Scarpas have somewhat better sole-design than the Zamberlans, but, the Scarpas cost more. Wearing the Scarpas feels wonderfully springy, like you are about to take off. I use my Scarpas for the easier stuff and the Zamberlans for the more-rugged terrain. It's hard to say which boot is the better, but, I say the Zamberlans sneak into first place by a nose. They are indeed a work of art in hiking boot design and manufacture. For the price, you will not find a better hiking boot, and for the design and performance the same can be said if you are like me and like a boot that's not too heavy, looks good, and performs safely and reliably in all terrain.

Purchased these about a month ago. My first thought when I put them on was that they fit like a good pair of hockey skates. The inner padding molds to your feet over time to provide great support and a good comfortable fit. I had read somewhere else that they fit large, but I would say the fit very true size. I am a 43 and although they felt a bit snug at first it didn't take long to break them in. I have worn them for shorter hikes and in fairly dry conditions and great so far. Once we get some wet weather and few, over the bog hikes, I'll see how the waterproofing holds up. (I have had other "waterproof" hikers not stand up to the test after only a short period.) I would highly recommend them, if you can afford the little bit more money they are worth it for the fit and comfort alone.

Well worth the price, I use them hiking, packing and general camping. Amazing quality, I put in easy feet insoles and they fit like a glove, very comfortable

I purchased these boots three months ago and, so far, they have performed perfectly. The fit is perfect (I have wide feet). The boots were very comfortable from day one - there was no breaking in required. I have used them for everything from walking the dog, to hiking and snowshoeing. Waterproofing is perfect, even when I had to ford a shallow stream. I cannot comment on long term durability yet. I plan to take care of them so let’s hope they keep performing well. I also like the look. Simple, plain, slightly nostalgic even. Classic.

I got these for my partner and he loves them. These shoes offer great grip with the Vibram sole, they hold the foot very comfortably and the ankle support offers more stability. Great for long hikes in technical terrain and the leather is easy to take care of. They fit true to size.

I recently bought a pair of these from MEC and have not yet tested them in the field, but I love their hand-made Italian construction and strength, their good Vibram soles, and their general feel and good quality. They fit well, feel supportive enough for most hiking, and are a very good price. Unusually, the tongues in these boots have no seams, but are directly part of the outer boot leather, which is a bonus to not have leaking tongue seams as in most boots, and it's a sign of high-quality design and manufacturing. Zamberlan have been making boots since 1929, almost 100 years. I love these boots.

One of the best all around boots you can buy. Good for 2 hour hikes or 4 day backpacking trips. Not too stiff, but lots of support.

I’ve had the Zamberlan 309’s for a month now and have put about 75 km on them. They fit great right out of the box but have been getting even more comfortable every time I hike. I like the lacing system and the ability to adjust the tightness in different parts of the boot. Although they’re fairly new they are definitely waterproof and have good grip. Hopefully they hold up over time.
