This is my go-to winter base layer now. The merino wool is high quality — no itching at all, which I was worried about. Washes well too, still looks new after several uses. Definitely worth the price if you're active in cold weather.

    Wil*******eva

Good quality, but took longer than expected to dry after washing. Otherwise fits well and feels nice. Might take some getting used to if you're new to merino wool.

    Dr. J***********r PhD

Great base layer for winter hiking. Wore it on a cold day in Banff and stayed comfortable the whole time. Moisture-wicking works well, and it didn’t smell even after a full day out.

    Mad*******hoen

As someone who’s picky about fabrics, this merino wool shirt blew me away. It's lightweight, regulates temperature like magic, and doesn’t trap odors. Survived backcountry trips and still looks new. A must-have for any Canadian adventurer braving the cold.

I love this long sleeve top! It's so soft against my skin and keeps me warm during chilly mornings in the mountains. The fit is true to size, and I appreciate how breathable the fabric feels even when layering. Perfect for hiking or just lounging around after a ski day.

Love this long sleeve top! It's so soft against my skin and keeps me warm during morning walks in the fall. The fit is true to size and it layers perfectly under my jacket. No itchiness like other wool brands, which is a huge plus for me.

    Prof. ************thy IV

Love how breathable and comfy this is. Wore it skiing and didn’t feel clammy at all. Natural merino wool feels premium and handles sweat like a boss. Worth every penny for outdoor lovers in Canada’s wild weather.

    Lac******hel

Very comfortable and breathable. I like how it fits snug but not tight. Only wish it came in more colors. Works well under sweaters or on its own during mild days.

    Ms. ********ucek

This Icebreaker top is a total game-changer for my winter hikes! Super soft, zero itch, and keeps me warm without overheating. The long sleeves are perfect under a jacket—definitely my go-to base layer now.

    Charl**********s IV

Great base layer — lightweight and comfortable. Doesn't hold onto odors like synthetic materials do. Wore it on a weekend backpacking trip and stayed dry and cozy the whole time.

  • I’ve had the Zamberlan 309’s for a month now and have put about 75 km on them. They fit great right out of the box but have been getting even more comfortable every time I hike. I like the lacing system and the ability to adjust the tightness in different parts of the boot. Although they’re fairly new they are definitely waterproof and have good grip. Hopefully they hold up over time.

  • One of the best all around boots you can buy. Good for 2 hour hikes or 4 day backpacking trips. Not too stiff, but lots of support.

  • I bought these last month at the tail end of winter. I am 5 ft 7 woman approx 160 lbs. They are a great size and weight for me. I wanted a pair that would be easy to strap on as I have arthritis in my knee. The harness is easily adjustable. The back strap is a little fiddly to connect the hole into the spike and to insert the extra strap into the holder. However that is minor and after a few tries I got the hang of it. Only reason for the 4 instead of stars. Great product and I look forward to many years of use.

  • My wife and I traveled for two months last winter. These were the only shoes/sandals I brought, and they served me well through some of the harshest conditions including the desert outback in Australia, the rain in New Zealand, and several encounters with saltwater... They are the perfect everything sandal/shoe for hot, warm, and moderate climates. When we were traveling, we did lots of walking, hiking, beaching, etc. These sandals were up to the challenge of a good hike, or just recreational walking around town. While they are comfortable and breathe well, They don't easily dry while being worn, and because of the toe cap/footbed design, have a tendency to sometimes trap pebbles or sand, requiring that your remove them to shake it out. Also, after time, they really started to stink and required a through cleaning/bleaching which is strange for me because none of my other shoes ever stink. Overall, an excellent comfortable everything sandal/shoe with a few very minor flaws.

  • I bought this during the MEC sale. I wear a size 6 women boots and the size small fits my boots. I can't compare to size XS which is what is recommended for my boot size as they didn't have it in the store but my size small works and fits me well so no complaints here. Haven't used it for that long so I can't talk about the longevity but I did use them for winter hiking and they are 100% waterproof and the velcro still works!

  • l love these gaiters. They kept my feet dry in 3 days of continuous rain. I find them easy to adjust and don't budge or slide down as I am a small human. I recommend them to all my friends who want quality gaiters for a modest dollar amount. Would love to see more colours in the future!

  • Had these a short time but so far they seem pretty nice. Good quality and comfortable. My previous Targhee III’s were splitting at several seems, but these are reputed to be less prone to this.

  • I bought my first pair back in 2006 and last year replaced them with new version. Materials are high quality and very durable. We wear them 3 seasons fall/winter/spring when they are needed. Definitely happy with them. Follow sizing chart which works well for me.

  • I recently bought a pair of these from MEC and have not yet tested them in the field, but I love their hand-made Italian construction and strength, their good Vibram soles, and their general feel and good quality. They fit well, feel supportive enough for most hiking, and are a very good price. Unusually, the tongues in these boots have no seams, but are directly part of the outer boot leather, which is a bonus to not have leaking tongue seams as in most boots, and it's a sign of high-quality design and manufacturing. Zamberlan have been making boots since 1929, almost 100 years. I love these boots.

  • Loved the Targhee III's, they did start to crack after countless miles and several years of abuse, the IV's have addressed this while keeping the same comfort. I was able to take them out of the box and hike a rough 10 mile hoke with np break in.
